If you plan to clean your oven, then the first thing you should do is remove the racks, pizza stone, thermometer, and other such removable items from the oven. These items must be cleaned separately. Often grease and grime adhere to the removable sections of your oven. Once you remove these parts of the oven, you can easily clean these on the kitchen sink. These need to be cleaned and dried separately. After that, you should clean the oven itself. This can be done quickly with the help of soap, scrubber, and other similar cleaning equipment. Some of the points to consider while cleaning your oven are as follows:

  • Soaking the oven in soap water or baking soda paste

The first step in cleaning the oven is soaking the oven in soap water. You can spray soap water throughout the interior of your oven. Once you have covered the entire oven with soap water, you need to wait for fifteen to twenty minutes for the soap water to soak into the grease and grime insider your oven. If you prefer something homemade, then you can use a paste of baking soda and water. But this paste has to be applied for at least ten to twelve hours or preferably overnight. So you must plan if you want to clean the oven with a baking soda paste. Once the soap or paste has completely reacted with the grease inside the oven, you can start scrubbing your oven.

  • Scrubbing the oven

Once the cleaning product has reacted with the grease, you should scrub the oven’s interior thoroughly. To protect your hands, you should wear rubber gloves. While cleaning the oven, you will come across sections where the grease and grime will be extra strong. Here you will have to scrub extra hard or apply more soap. When you feel that the grease and grime have been removed from the oven, you can clean the oven with water.

  • Cleaning the oven with water

To remove the soap or baking powder paste from the oven, you will need to wipe the interior of your oven with a wet cloth. Clean the walls and the door of your oven with the help of a wet cloth followed by a dry cloth. This will remove any food stains that are left in the interior of your oven. Additionally, it will also remove any last speck of grease or grime from your oven. For the racks to you should clean these with a scrubber and then wipe them with a wet cloth. If there are some heavy grease stains on the racks, then rub them with a pumice stone. It will remove the grease or grime entirely from the racks.

Thus, cleaning an oven might seem to be a time-consuming and challenging task, but it should be done regularly. If you regularly clean the oven, you will find that it does not have any grease or grime on it and that it is spotless.
